Automation and AI adoption for modern IT infrastructure

Know what you're running.
Then decide what to change.

The Infrastructure & AI Readiness Assessment is a fixed-scope engagement. Every system and subscription you run gets accounted for, each one gets a call of fix, replace or own outright, and you find out where automation and AI genuinely fit in your operation and where they do not belong yet.

You come away with a written roadmap in priority order. It is yours to act on, with me or without me.

01 · Start here

A free discovery session.

One hour, by video, no obligation and no pitch deck. You tell me how your organization actually runs: the systems, the subscriptions, what breaks, and what you are renting that you could own. I ask the questions I would ask on day one of a paid engagement.

You should come away with insight, not a sales pitch. That is the point of the hour.

What you leave with

  • Two or three concrete observations about your setup, specific to you
  • An honest read on whether a full assessment is worth your money
  • If it is, exactly what it would cover and what it would cost
  • If it is not, I will tell you that too

An hour is an hour. Anything that needs your systems properly inventoried is the paid engagement below.

02 · The method

Five stages, every engagement.

The stages do not change with the size of the organization. Only their depth and breadth do. One method, one report format, no surprises about what arrives at the end.

  1. 01

    Scoping

Headcount and departments, your system list as you understand it, the subscription invoices, who owns what, and what is already hurting. This happens in the free discovery session, before anything is signed, and it is what sets the scope and the price.

  2. 02

    Discovery

Interviews with your people and a walkthrough of the systems as they are actually used, not as the org chart describes them. Every system, subscription, licence line, integration and manual workaround gets written down, along with the name of the person who depends on it.

  3. 03

    The map

Each system gets a call: fix, replace or own. Spend is totalled per system and per year, including the licences nobody remembered. Dependencies and risk are laid out as a zone and stability map, the same method I run on production infrastructure daily, so you can see which parts of your operation are load-bearing and which are not.

  4. 04

    Automation and AI fit

Where automation and AI genuinely earn their place, with the prerequisites named honestly: data hygiene, access control, and the governance you need before anything touches real records. You also get the explicit list of what is not ready and why, which is usually the more valuable half.

  5. 05

    Report and readout

A written report you can hand to a board, a council or an owner without translating it first, followed by a live readout. It ends in a prioritized sequence with costed next steps, so the decision afterwards is a decision and not another discovery exercise.

03 · Scope and duration

Scaled to your organization.

A twelve-person office does not need the engagement a health authority needs. Duration below is my working days on the engagement, not calendar time, because what stretches a timeline is scheduling interviews, not the analysis.

3 working days

Focused review

Up to roughly 15 people, one location, under roughly 10 core systems, no dedicated IT staff.

  • Two interviews, typically the owner and whoever keeps things running
  • Core systems and all subscriptions inventoried
  • Single-page dependency and risk map
  • Report plus a one-hour readout

Usually inside one week.

5 to 7 working days

Standard assessment

Roughly 15 to 75 people, one or two locations, 10 to 30 systems, perhaps one IT generalist on staff.

  • Five or six interviews across departments
  • Full inventory: systems, subscriptions, integrations, and the manual steps between them
  • Full zone and stability map
  • Report plus a readout with your leadership team

Two to three weeks.

Up to 10 working days

Full assessment

75 or more people, multiple sites or departments, 30 or more systems, regulated or resident data, or a public-sector reporting cycle.

  • Ten or more interviews plus a department-by-department pass
  • Everything in the standard assessment, plus data-flow mapping and shadow IT discovery
  • Zone and stability map plus a per-department risk register
  • Board or council presentation pack alongside the written report
  • Pilot annex: one automation specified to the point it can be quoted and built

Three to five weeks, aligned to your board or council cycle.

Fixed scope and fixed price, agreed in writing before the first day. Assessments start at $2,000. Your scope and price are set in the discovery session, so you know both before you commit to anything.

04 · What you get

A roadmap you can actually use.

The roadmap is written so your own people could execute it. If you would rather run it yourself, that is a legitimate outcome and the report is built for it.

Deliverables, every engagement

  • The written report, yours to keep and circulate
  • System and subscription inventory with annual spend totalled
  • The fix, replace or own call on each system, with the reasoning
  • Your zone and stability map
  • A prioritized sequence with costed next steps
  • The live readout

Scope discipline

  • No implementation inside the assessment. Implementation is separate work, quoted from the report.
  • Keeping those separate is what makes the recommendations worth reading.
  • Scope changes are a new engagement, not a quiet revision.
  • The report is yours, including the parts that say do nothing yet.

Two questions and we can scope it.

How many people are in your organization, and roughly how many systems and subscriptions are you paying for? That is enough to put you in the right scope before we even talk. Bring your subscription invoices to the discovery session and the hour will be worth more.
